Google will take on iTunes

Google has now announced the future of Google Music. It is similar to iTunes but it is based on the internet.  It will be offered free for a limited time.  According to yahoo, “Google Music will allow users to upload their music to an online “digital locker” directory, where they can stream it to just about any device they own, including PCs and Android-running tablets and phones. A Hawaii benefit concert for the victims of the earthquake and tsunamis that hit Japan last month raised $1.6 million on Sunday, April 10, the same day more aftershocks hit in Japan and the government advised people who live beyond the previous imposed 12-mile area from the damaged nuclear power plant to evacuate.

Hawaii Japanese relief event organizers say the event on the Great Lawn at Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki raised $1.6 million as of Sunday afternoon. Donations will continue to be accepted at www.kokuaforjapan.com. The sold-out Sunday concert was called “Kokua For Japan,” using the Hawaiian word for “help.”

Entertainers included Jack Johnson, Willie Nelson, Michael McDonald and Mick Fleetwood. Hawaiian music performers included Henry Kapono, Amy Hanaialii, and the Brothers Cazimero. All proceeds from the $15 tickets are to benefit the American Red Cross for Japan earthquake and Pacific tsunami relief efforts. All entertainers, crew and event producers donated their time and resources for the event.
